Specification:The most common types of microscopes, and the first created, is the optical microscope. This microscope is an optical instrument consisting of one or more lenses that produce an enlarged image of an object placed in the focal area of the lens.

How it works

SEM image formation mode is different to what happens on an optical microscope and TEM. In SEM, the image is made based on the detection of new electrons ( secondary electrons) or the reflection of electrons emerging from the sample surface when the sample surface is scanned by an electron beam. Secondary electrons or reflected electrons are detected further strengthened the signal, then the amplitude is displayed in large dark-light shades on the monitor screen CRT ( cathode ray tube) . In the CRT screen is a picture that has been enlarged object structure can be seen. In the process of operation, the SEM does not require that the sample is thinned, so that could be used to view objects from 3-dimensional perspective.
